Cayce Announces Retirement of Longtime Parks Director

The City of Cayce announces the retirement of longtime Parks Director, James Denny. Denny’s 40 years of dedication and vision have helped shape Cayce’s parks, green spaces, Riverwalk, trails, and community programs.

James has served the Cayce community with distinction, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the City’s parks system, expanding recreational opportunities, and creating welcoming spaces for residents of all ages. Under his leadership, Cayce has seen continued investment in its parks and facilities, strengthening quality of life and community pride.

“James has been an incredible asset to the City of Cayce,” said Cayce City Manager, Michael Conley. “His passion for our trails, parks and people is evident in every project he’s touched. Because of his dedication, our parks system is stronger, more accessible, and better positioned for future projects. We are grateful for his years of service and wish him all the best in his retirement!”

Throughout his tenure, James championed events that brought families together, and highlighted the natural beauty of Cayce, such as: Cayce Beautification Foundation projects, Christmas in Cayce, Soiree on State, the Cayce Riverwalk, and numerous park enhancements. His commitment to maintaining high-quality recreational spaces has left a lasting impact on the community.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of Cayce,” said James. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and grateful for the support of City leadership, staff, and the community. Cayce is a special place, and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and thrive.”
