Water System Testing
March 17, 2026
On the morning of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the City of
Cayce will be conducting water system testing near the Cayce Water Treatment
Plant to ensure future system reliability for a planned upgrade.
The work will require the flow of water to be reversed in
some areas of the system, particularly near Moss Creek, Concord Park, and the
12th Street corridor between Frink Street and I-77.
When this work is done, there is the potential for brown
water to be noticed from faucets. This discoloration is caused by harmless
minerals, such as iron and manganese, that can become loose in water lines
during water system testing. This is not an indicator that the water is
unsafe to consume, and the discoloration will be temporary.
If you notice any discoloration, run cold water from a
faucet for several minutes until it clears. It is recommended to avoid washing
light-colored laundry until the water runs clear.
If any of our Cayce citizens or businesses have questions,
please contact Cayce Utilities at 803-550-9542.
