District ONE CouncilWOman

Councilwoman Almond was raised in the Midlands area but chose to live in Cayce because it has easy access to all the amenities of larger nearby cities but has a lower cost of living and a small town appeal. She is married to Reggie Almond and has two children: Hampton, 25, and Haley, 23. Haley graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School as did most of Reggie’s extended family. Almond and her husband took an ugly duckling house and, with some skills she’d picked up over the years, turned it into a beautiful home. Her handiwork and dedication has helped increase not only her property value but also the property value of homes around her in Cayce.

As the owner of a local small business, Almond Accounting & Tax, LLC, she helps to provide financial expertise to current businesses as well as those looking to locate in Cayce. She also prepares income tax returns for individuals and small businesses in the area. She’s worked in accounting for more than 30 years and values being able to provide sound financial services to her customers. Her prior experience in governmental accounting and auditing adds value when going through Cayce’s budget process.

In addition to her service on Council, Almond is a former Chairman of the Cayce Board of Zoning Appeals and she serves on the Public Safety Foundation. Almond’s priorities for the City are addressing stormwater issues and aging infrastructure.
