BEFORE YOU DIG!

If you are planning to build; landscape; install a fence, well, or sprinkler system; or perform any other activities that require extensive digging on your property, call the City of Cayce directly at 803-796-9020, ext. 3042 or 3043 for any locations you  need AND call Palmetto Utility Protection Service at 811 or 1-800-922-0983.

We will visit your property and mark the city's water and sewer lines so you won't damage them when you dig. The City of Cayce color codes are blue for water and green for sewer.

Water Quality

The drinking water from the City of Cayce's water treatment plant meets or surpasses all federal and state drinking water standards. The system is supplied by the Congaree River. For the latest water quality data, please click here.

Water Distribution

Water distribution crews ensure the continuous operation of the water system. They are responsible for installing new water service connections, relocating water and repairing water mains, and maintaining service connections and fire hydrants. Water distribution personnel are on-call 24 hours a day to assure that customers receive the service they need.

Wastewater Collection and Maintenance

Wastewater collection personnel are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the entire sewer collection system, including pump stations, meters, and manholes, to ensure proper and uninterrupted service. This division also performs sewer line installations and replacements, sewer line taps and extensions, and sewer inspections. They are on-call 24 hours a day and respond to emergency sewage situations immediately to minimize customer inconvenience.

Treatment Plants

The City of Cayce's water treatment plant is located at 2545 Charleston Highway.

The City of Cayce Wastewater Treatment plant is located one-half mile north of the junction of Congaree Creek and Old State Road in Lexington County.

A facility expansion and upgrade is planned for the near future to treat the increased flows resulting from rapid growth within the surrounding areas of Lexington County.
